(C) 2009 Rev. Alexandriah Stahr, Star-Essence Temple
My Inner Shaman Shamanism is the practice of living your liife according to conscious communication and guidance with your own Inner Shaman and your own personal Power Animals as representatives of your own Inner Magical Self and the personal talents and abilites represented by your Power Animals. The Shaman Path is an individual path of spiritual growth and enlightenment. Connecting with your own Inner Shaman is connecting with your true and Natural/Instinctual Self who knows how to live in harmony with your body and your environment as well as communicate with and travel to the spiritual realms for answers and healing. Lord Sananda on Shamanism I am (Jesus) Sananda, the Christ Teacher for this planet and this time. I am also a White Magician and White Shaman in my own right. I follow the Path of the Peaceful Warrior. Being a Shaman is simply allowing your daily life to be the reflection of your Ascension Path while developing and using your innate spiritual powers. Shamanism is inner spiritual connection and ability to connect with your original natural self and your environment. Your inner shaman is known by many names, your Inner Natural Self, your Inner Instinctual Self, Inner Magical Self and Inner Healer Self. This Inner Shaman, Inner Natural Self, knows how to create harmony and balance in yourself, your body, life and affairs, as well as create harmony in your environment and your relationship with nature. Your Inner Shaman Healer and Power Animal Retrieval and Empowerment is not in conflict with your Christ Consciousness, it is part of it. Being a White Shaman includes a belief in the Collective Christ and Original Mother/Father Creator Source. So have fun discovering and exploring this level of Self. It is ok to acknowledge having a Natural - Instinctual self within that knows how to travel in the other spiritual realms and recognizes the place that the earth and nature and its creatures play in the greater scheme of things. Namaste I AM Sananda Kumara
Traditional Shamanism Explanation Adapted from Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaShamanism comprises a range of traditional beliefs and practices concerned with communication with the spirit world. It is a prominent term in anthropological research. A practitioner of shamanism is known as a shaman. Shamans are intermediaries between the human and spirit worlds. They can treat illness and are capable of entering supernatural realms to obtain answers to the problems of their community. Beliefs There are many variations of shamanism throughout the world; and several common beliefs are shared by all forms of shamanism. Common beliefs are identified as follows:
Neoshamanism, or Neo-Shamanism, is a term that refers to a revived shamanic practice within modern Western culture in many different forms. The prefix "neo-" refers to the fact that shamanic roots are lost in the modern civilized world, and the practice is not an organic continuation of the practices of our fathers and grandfathers (while in traditional societies this is the case). Neo-shamanism is sometimes used as a disclaimer or qualifier, where revivalists are trying to piece back together shattered systems that no longer exists as a whole due to significant changes in the original culture. Neo-shamanism is not a single, cohesive belief system, but a collective term for many such philosophies. However, certain generalities may be drawn between Neo-shamans. Most believe in spirits and pursue contact with the "spirit-world" in altered states of consciousness which they achieve through drumming and dance. Many members of traditional, indigenous cultures and religions are suspicious of Neo-shamanism, believing it to rely too heavily on cultural appropriation or that it is an excuse by fraudulent shamans to cover up inconsistencies in their ceremonies. Neo Shamanism - Beliefs As with most modern Paganism, there is no single dogma or central authority for Shamanism, and Shamanism is perhaps one of the least readily definable of the Pagan religions, being extremely diverse. The spirit world is viewed as part of everyday reality – it surrounds us and we live with spirits all the time; the Shaman has the ability to move between the worlds and thus provide a bridge, becoming a pathfinder for her/his people. Shamanism is an ecstatic religion, and through training or calling the Shaman is able to access the spirit worlds and work with the powers there; through this contact, the Shaman is able to work acts of healing, divination and magic, revealing human spirituality through vision poetry, myth and healing. Shamans place a great emphasis on personal experience, and therefore usually follow a solitary path, although some work together in groups, particularly during this time of the Planetary Ascension. Shamanic practice is characterized by seeking vision in solitude and is deeply rooted in the Shamanic belief that everything is alive and carries with it power and wisdom. Power animals are an essential component of shamanic practice. They are the helping spirits which add to the power of the Shaman and are essential for success in any venture undertaken by the Shaman. Shamans believe that everyone has Power Animals – Animal Spirits which reside with each individual adding to their power and protecting them from illness, acting similarly to a guardian angel. Each Power Animal that you have increases your power so that illnesses or negative energy cannot enter your body. The spirit also lends you the wisdom of its kind. A hawk spirit will give you hawk wisdom and lend you some of the attributes of hawk. Everyone is thought to have a few of these guardian Power Animals. Over the course of her or his life the person may have several. If a Power Animal leaves and one does not come to takes its place the individual is considered, by the Shaman, to be disempowered and therefore vulnerable to illness and bad luck. History of Shamanism and Neo-shamanism Shamanism is a technique and practice which is of growing importance in modern Paganism. Shamanism originated in Siberia and Central Asia and spread from the Russian steppes westwards in Europe and Eastwards into North America; is has also been found in South America and the Pacific. Thus historically, Shamanism can be found throughout the world. Elements of Shamanism can be found throughout European Paganism. Shamanism is also found in the Celtic tradition. The growth of modern Neo-shamanism has grown and become more popular since the 1960s, however it was not until the 1980s that non academic publications and organizations regarding modern day shamanism appeared. Shamans today range from those trained in the path of a particular society, such as a Native American Tribe, to those reconstructing Shamanic experience from historical accounts and their own memories and direct experience. © Copyright 2009-2010 Alexandriah Stahr, Star-Essence Temple.
